Beep, beep, beep! This is your 6 AM Bake wake-up call! Bid your taste buds a “good morning” with this warm, cheesy, crispy bite. There’s plenty of hearty ham to start things off right and there are tons of flavors to make sure you’re in good spirits. Whether you wake up before the sun rises or it’s there as you rise, starting your morning with 6 AM Bake will bring you the sunniest day ever, come rain or shine!


  • 2 cups ham, cooked and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 7 slices bread, crust removed
  • 1/2 pound American cheese, cubed
  • 3 cups milk
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt


Step 1 –Coat a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.

Step 2 –Spread the ham onto the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.

Step 3 –Use the butter to coat one side of each of the bread slices.

Step 4 –Cut the buttered bread slices into cubes.

Step 5 –Arrange the buttered bread cubes atop the ham layer and sprinkle with the cheese cubes.

Step 6 –In a bowl, whisk the milk, the beaten eggs, the mustard powder, and the salt together.

Step 7 –Pour the egg mixture over the cheese layer.

Step 8 –Cover the baking dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.

Step 9 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 10 –Uncover the baking dish and bake the casserole until the cheese has melted and the eggs are set in the middle, about 1 hour.

Step 11 –Serve.
