Ingredients
- 4 (6-ounce) chicken breast halves, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2/3 cup chunky applesauce
- 2/3 cup spicy barbeque sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
Directions
Step 1 –Sprinkle the chicken with pepper.
Step 2 –Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 3 –Add the chicken and brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
Step 4 –In a small bowl, combine the applesauce, barbeque sauce, brown sugar, and chili powder.
Step 5 –Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
Step 6 –Cover and cook until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F internally, about 7-10 minutes.
Step 7 –Serve.
