You’re not allowed to say you don’t like asparagus if you haven’t tried this recipe for Baked Asparagus with Parmesan! This dish is spritzed with lemon, topped with Parmesan cheese, and baked until the asparagus is tender and the cheese is ooey-gooey. This side dish is flavorful and super simple to whip up. Ingredients
- 1 pound asparagus
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, 1/2 zested and the other 1/2 sliced
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2 –Cut off the tough bottom ends of the asparagus. Add the asparagus stalks to a foil-lined baking sheet.
Step 3 –Drizzle the asparagus with the olive oil, and add the kosher salt and black pepper.
Step 4 –Add the zest of the 1/2 lemon and mix it with your hands.
Step 5 –Add 4 of the lemon slices to the baking sheet. Sprinkle the asparagus with the parmesan cheese.
Step 6 –Bake until tender when pierced by a fork at the thickest part, about 10-15 minutes. The timing will depend on the thickness of the asparagus spears. The asparagus spears in the photo were done in 12 minutes.
Step 7 –Serve immediately.
