Ingredients
- 2 cups white rice, long-grain
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup red bell peppers, diced
- 1/2 cup carrots, diced
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1 cup ham, diced
- salt, to taste
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons chile paste
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –Place the rice in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 –Drizzle the canola oil and sesame oil over the rice.
Step 4 –Add in the garlic, the green onions, the peppers, the carrots, the peas, and the ham, stirring until combined.
Step 5 –Season with salt to taste.
Step 6 –In a pot on the stove, combine the chicken broth, the soy sauce, and the chile paste. Bring the broth to a boil.
Step 7 –Remove the broth mixture from the heat and pour it over the rice, stirring to combine.
Step 8 –Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 32 minutes.
Step 9 –Remove the baking dish from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before uncovering and fluffing the rice with a fork.
Step 10 –Increase the temperature of the oven to 475 degrees F.
Step 11 –Return the dish to the oven and bake until the rice is browned and a crust forms, about 10 minutes.
Step 12 –Remove the baking dish from the oven and season to taste.
Step 13 –Serve!
