For the chicken:

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • kosher salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

For the honey garlic sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha, optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup water
  • rice, optional, to taste, cooked, for serving
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds


Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Lightly oil a 9×13 baking dish.

Step 3 –Season the chicken pieces with the salt and the pepper.

Step 4 –Working in batches, dip the chicken pieces into the eggs and then dredge them in the panko, pressing to coat.

Step 5 –Add the chicken pieces to the prepared baking dish and bake until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F and are golden-brown and crisp, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 6 –In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the honey, the garlic, the soy sauce, and the sriracha.
