Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3-4 pounds chuck roast or beef brisket
  • 1 large white onions, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Use aluminum foil to line a walled roasting pan and coat it very lightly with the olive oil.

Step 3 –Place the meat in the pan.

Step 4 –Combine the onions, ketchup, dry onion soup, and water together in a bowl and mix.

Step 5 –Pour the mixture over the beef.

Step 6 –Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil.

Step 7 –Bake until the beef reaches an internal temperature reaches 165-170 degrees F, about 2 hours 45 minutes-3 hours 15 minutes.

Step 8 –Remove from the oven and let it rest, covered, for 10 minutes.

Step 9 –Slice and serve.
