Ingredients

  • 1 kaiser roll
  • 2/3 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Hungarian hot paprika or smoked paprika, optional
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Soak the kaiser roll in a medium bowl of water for 10 minutes.

Step 2 –Drain and squeeze out the excess water from the kaiser roll.

Step 3 –Crumble the kaiser roll into a large bowl.

Step 4 –Add the ground beef, the ground pork, the onion, the parsley, the egg, the paprika, the salt, and the black pepper to the crumbled roll and mix until well-blended.

Step 5 –Shape the mixture into large, flattened patties.

Step 6 –Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Step 7 –Fry the burgers in the hot skillet until browned and no longer pink in the center, ensuring they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F, about 5 minutes per side.

Step 8 –Serve.
