Ingredients
- 1 pound smoked sausage, chopped
- 1 (8-ounce) box dirty rice, plus the ingredients called for on the package
- 2 cups chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cooked and chopped
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can unsalted cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 (2.8-ounce) can crispy-fried onions
- fresh parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 –In a large skillet, add the smoked sausage and cook until it starts to brown.
Step 4 –Add the dirty rice mix to the sausage and cook according to the package directions.
Step 5 –Transfer the skillet from the heat.
Step 6 –Stir the cooked chicken, the cream of chicken soup, the sour cream, and the parmesan cheese into the rice mixture.
Step 7 –Spread the rice mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the crsipy-fried onions.
Step 8 –Bake the rice mixture until it is bubbly, about 30 minutes.
Step 9 –Garnish the rice mixture with the parsley and serve.
