Brown Butter Bars

Ingredients

  • 4 cups white fudge-covered miniature pretzels
  • 1 (10-ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (10-12-ounce) package white baking chips
  • 2 cups butter, cubed
  • 3 (10-ounce) packages large marshmallows
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 cups sweetened corn and oat cereal

Directions

Step 1 –Line a 15×10-inch pan with parchment paper, letting the ends of the paper extend over the sides.

Step 2 –Freeze the pretzels, the miniature marshmallows, and the baking chips for 1 hour.

Step 3 –Combine the frozen pretzels, the marshmallows, and the baking chips in a large bowl.

Step 4 –In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the butter, stirring constantly, until it is golden-brown, about 10-13 minutes.

Step 5 –Add the large marshmallows to the melted butter and cook, stirring, until they are blended.

Step 6 –Transfer the Dutch oven from the heat.

Step 7 –Stir the vanilla and the salt into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Step 8 –Stir the cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture until it is coated.

Step 9 –Stir the pretzel mixture into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Step 10 –Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, pressing it evenly with a buttered spatula.

Step 11 –Allow the mixture to cool completely.

Step 12 –Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan.

Step 13 –Slice and serve.
