Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted, plus more, to taste, softened, for greasing the baking dish
- 1 (10.75-ounce) loaf bread, day-old and torn into small pieces
- 3 cups milk
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup butterscotch chips

Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Using the extra butter, grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 –In a large bowl, combine the bread, the milk, the brown sugar, 1/2 cup of the butter, the eggs, the vanilla, and the butterscotch chips, stirring to combine. The mixture will be the consistency of oatmeal.
Step 4 –Pour the bread pudding mixture into the prepared pan.
Step 5 –Bake the bread pudding until it is nearly set, but still has a slight wiggle, about 1 hour.
Step 6 –Serve the bread pudding warm or cold.
