Ingredients
For the bake:
- 2 (17-ounce) packages Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 20 slices American cheese or cheddar cheese, divided
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes with garlic and onion, drained
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
- 24 bacon strips, cooked and broken into 1-inch pieces
For the glaze:
- 1 cup butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Grease two 9×13-inch baking pans.
Step 3 –Cut each package of the rolls in half horizontally without separating them.
Step 4 –Place the bottoms of the rolls in the prepared baking pans.
Step 5 –In each pan, place 5 slices of the cheese on the bottom halves of the rolls.
Step 6 –Bake until the cheese has melted, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 7 –In a large skillet, cook the beef and the onion over medium heat, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender, about 6-8 minutes.
Step 8 –Drain the fat from the skillet.
Step 9 –Stir the tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of the mustard, 1 tablespoon of the Worcestershire sauce, the salt, and the pepper into the meat mixture and cook, while stirring, until it is combined, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 10 –Evenly spoon the beef mixture over the melted cheese in the baking dishes.
Step 11 –Top the meat mixture with the bacon and the remaining cheese.
Step 12 –Place the roll tops on top of the cheese.
Step 13 –In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, the brown sugar, the remaining Worcestershire sauce, and the remaining mustard.
Step 14 –Microwave the mixture on high heat, covered and stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted.
Step 15 –Pour the glaze over the rolls and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
Step 16 –Bake the sliders, uncovered, until they are golden-brown and heated through, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 17 –Serve.
