Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 5 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 prepared pie crust, uncooked, store-bought or homemade
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –In a skillet, cook the ground beef, the onion, and the bacon until the bacon is crispy and the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 3 –Drain the grease from the skillet.
Step 4 –Remove the skillet from the stovetop.
Step 5 –Add the breadcrumbs, the mustard, the barbecue sauce, the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, and the pepper.
Step 6 –Place the prepared pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate and then place the beef mixture into the pie crust.
Step 7 –Combine the cheese, the egg, and the milk in a small bowl.
Step 8 –Spread the egg mixture over the meat mixture.
Step 9 –Cover the pie crust edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
Step 10 –Bake for 15 minutes.
Step 11 –Remove the foil.
Step 12 –Bake uncovered until the pie crust is golden-brown and the cheese topping is bubbly and melty, about 15 minutes.
Step 13 –Allow it to cool.
Step 14 –Serve.
