Ingredients
- 1 (12-ounce) package whole-wheat penne pasta
- 1 (24-ounce) jar pasta sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 pound chicken, boneless and skinless, cut into small pieces
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2 –Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 –Add the noodles, the pasta sauce, the water, the chicken, and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella in the prepared baking dish.
Step 4 –Sprinkle the pasta mixture with the salt and the pepper and stir to combine until the sauce completely coats the pasta and the chicken.
Step 5 –Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 6 –Uncover the dish and bake until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 10 minutes.
Step 7 –Spread the breadcrumbs, the remaining mozzarella, and the parmesan cheese over the pasta mixture.
Step 8 –Bake the pasta mixture, uncovered, until the cheese has melted and the breadcrumbs are golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
