Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 pound semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped and divided
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon coffee, finely ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound strawberries, sliced

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease an 8-inch baking pan and line it with foil, allowing for some overhang.

Step 3 –In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

Step 4 –Add 1/2 of the chocolate to the saucepan and melt it into the butter, whisking to combine.

Step 5 –Let the chocolate mixture cool.

Step 6 –In a bowl, mix the sugar, the eggs, and the vanilla.

Step 7 –In a separate bowl, sift the flour, the baking powder, the cocoa powder, the coffee, and the salt.

Step 8 –Mix the cooled melted chocolate into the egg mixture.

Step 9 –Mix the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture.

Step 10 –Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.

Step 11 –Bake the batter until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 12 –Sprinkle the strawberries on top of the brownies.

Step 13 –Melt the remaining chocolate over medium-low heat on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Step 14 –Pour the melted chocolate over the strawberries.

Step 15 –Let the melted chocolate cool until set, about 30-60 minutes.

Step 16 –Serve.
