Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 orange-flavored milk chocolate ball, such as Terry’s™, chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons orange zest
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 3 –In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, the cocoa powder, the baking powder, the baking soda, and the salt. Set it aside.
Step 4 –In the bowl of a stand mixer or using an electrical handheld mixer, beat the sugar and the cream cheese on medium speed until creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 5 –Add the egg, the oil, and the vanilla to the sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
Step 6 –Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Step 7 –Add the chocolate chips, the orange-chocolate chunks, and the orange zest to the batter and mix until just combined.
Step 8 –Use a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Place them about 2 inches apart from each other.
Step 9 –Bake the cookies until just set, about 9-11 minutes.
Step 10 –Carefully take the cookies out of the oven and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
