Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups, plus 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Step 1 –Set your oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Cream together the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups of the white sugar, the eggs, and the vanilla.

Step 3 –Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Step 4 –Shape the dough into balls using a spoon.

Step 5 –Then mix the 2 tablespoons of the white sugar and the cinnamon together.

Step 6 –Roll the balls of your dough in the cinnamon sugar.

Step 7 –Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Step 8 –Bake the cookies until they are set but still soft in the middle, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 9 –Allow the cookies to cool on a rack before serving.
