Ingredients
- 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 1 (1.5-ounce) package pork gravy mix
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 –Line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with the biscuits.
Step 4 –Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 5 –Add the sausage to the skillet and cook, while crumbling the meat, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
Step 6 –Scatter the sausage over the biscuit layer.
Step 7 –Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheddar cheese over the sausage layer.
Step 8 –In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, the milk, the salt, and the pepper together and pour it over the cheese layer.
Step 9 –In a small saucepan, combine the water and the gravy mix and bring to a boil.
Step 10 –Reduce the heat and simmer the gravy until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 11 –Pour the gravy over the egg mixture.
Step 12 –Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
Step 13 –Bake the casserole until the eggs are fluffy and the cheese is bubbling, about 30 minutes.
Step 14 –Serve.
