Cream Cheese Tea Ring

Mmmm, who doesn’t love a good brunch?! We love it for a lot of reasons, but mainly because it’s socially acceptable to enjoy sweet and savory flavors all at once. Just the best! If you’re on the search for something sweet that would also add a little beauty to your spread, this Cream Cheese Tea Ring is it! Everyone will love this ring of golden-brown bread that’s filled with some lemon-flavored cream cheese and drizzled with a sugary vanilla glaze. Cream Cheese Tea Ring is the perfect addition that you didn’t know you were missing. Now, your spread is perfect!

Ingredients

For the tea ring:

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, room temperature
  • 1 pound frozen white bread dough, such as Rhodes Bake-N-Serv®, defrosted in the refrigerator overnight

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Directions

Step 1 –In a bowl, add the cream cheese, the sugar, the lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of the butter and mix to combine.

Step 2 –Roll the dough into a 14×8-inch rectangle.

Step 3 –Spread the cream cheese filling over the top of the dough rectangle.

Step 4 –Roll the dough rectangle up, jelly-roll style as if making cinnamon rolls, then seal the ends together to form a ring.

Step 5 –Make partial cuts in the dough ring, starting from the outside moving toward the middle, that are about 1 1/2-inches apart and about 3/4 of the way deep.

Step 6 –Rotate the sliced sections about 45 degrees so that the filling is exposed.

Step 7 –Loosely cover the dough ring with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm spot, about 1 hour.

Step 8 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 9 –Bake the dough ring, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 10 –Transfer the ring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11 –In a bowl, add the confectioners’ sugar, the remaining butter, the vanilla, and the milk and beat with an electric hand mixer to combine.

Step 12 –Pour the glaze into a resealable plastic bag and cut off one of its corners.

Step 13 –Drizzle the glaze over the bread ring.

Step 14 –Slice and serve.
