Ingredients

  • 10 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 5 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package directions.

Step 2 –Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.

Step 3 –Add the cream to the butter and simmer until it has just thickened, about 4-5 minutes. Do not let the cream boil.

Step 4 –Whisk the parmesan cheese into the cream mixture, stirring continuously, until the cheese has melted.

Step 5 –Season the sauce with the salt and the pepper.

Step 6 –Heat the remaining butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 7 –Add the shrimp to the melted butter and sauté, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 8 –Add the garlic to the shrimp and cook until it is fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 9 –Drain the pasta and toss it with the alfredo sauce.

Step 10 –Arrange the shrimp on top of the pasta and sprinkle it with the parsley.
