This Crispy Breaded Cauliflower dish is one that we hope when we say, “trust us,” you say, “okay,” because the flavors of these bites are just too yummy to miss out on! Really! The tender cauliflower coated in savory, sweet, and nutty flavors, then roasted to perfection will have you forgetting all about the confusion you were contemplating prior to biting in. We love to dip them in our favorite sauce, but you can eat Crispy Breaded Cauliflower however you prefer! We just hope you love them as much as we do!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, chopped into large florets
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon refined coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon hot sauce

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3 –Place the cauliflower florets in a large bowl.

Step 4 –In a small bowl, mix the panko, the cornmeal, the cumin, the smoked paprika, the garlic powder, the turmeric, and the kosher salt together.

Step 5 –In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk the coconut oil, the peanut butter, the maple syrup, the soy sauce, and the hot sauce together until it is fully-combined and slightly darkened, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6 –Pour the sauce over the cauliflower and stir several times until well-coated.

Step 7 –Pour about 1/3 of the panko mixture over the cauliflower mixture and stir to combine. Repeat this step two more times, using all of the panko mixture and ensuring the cauliflower mixture is well-coated.

Step 8 –Use your hands to transfer the cauliflower mixture to the prepared baking sheet.

Step 9 –Discard the remaining panko mixture that is left in the bowl.

Step 10 –Bake the cauliflower mixture, flipping it halfway through, for 30 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve immediately.
