Ingredients

  • 1 1/2-2 pounds salmon, cut into individual filets
  • sea salt, to taste
  • oil, as needed for pan-frying

Directions

Step 1 –Season the salmon flesh liberally with sea salt and any other desired seasonings.

Step 2 –Heat a large cast iron skillet or non-stick skillet over high heat and add enough oil to generously coat the surface, about 3 tablespoons.

Step 3 –Allow the skillet to heat up for a few minutes until it is sizzling hot.

Step 4 –Carefully place the salmon filets flesh-side down, skin-side up on the hot skillet.

Step 5 –Allow the salmon to cook for 6 minutes on the flesh side.

Step 6 –Use a metal spatula to carefully flip the salmon and cook until it is done to your liking, about 4 minutes.

Step 7 –Remove the salmon filets from the skillet using a spatula.

Step 8 –Serve with desired sides.
