Ingredients
- 7/8 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 cups rolled oats

Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –In a large saucepan, combine the butter and the golden syrup and bring to a boil.
Step 3 –Add the baking soda to the butter-syrup mixture and stir until the mixture becomes frothy.
Step 4 –Add the flaked coconut, the flour, the sugar, and the oats and stir well.
Step 5 –Lightly press the oat mixture into a large baking tray.
Step 6 –Bake the crunchies for 15 minutes.
Step 7 –Cool the crunchies and cut them into serving-size bars.
Step 8 –Serve.
