Ingredients
- 1 (2-pound) flank steak
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper, optional
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 –Score the surface of the steak against the grain, with the scores 1-inch apart and 1/4-inch-deep.
Step 2 –Combine the olive oil, the soy sauce, the honey, the red wine, the garlic, and the lemon pepper in a large resealable freezer bag.
Step 3 –Add the steak to the bag and shake to coat well.
Step 4 –Place the bag in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
Step 5 –Preheat the grill to high heat.
Step 6 –Place the steak on the grill.
Step 7 –Season the steak with the salt and the pepper.
Step 8 –Grill until the steak reaches a medium-rare internal temperature of 135 degrees F, about 3-5 minutes per side.
Step 9 –Transfer the steak to a plate and wrap it with foil to rest for 5 minutes.
Step 10 –Slice the steak thinly against the grain, creating diagonal slices.
Step 11 –Serve.
