Some people dream of lavish vacations, cars, or houses, but we have something a little different on our minds. Dream Cake is constantly on replay, and we are very excited about it. Starting with a yellow cake mix, we’ve added some creamy sour cream and a bit of rich vanilla extract that makes this cloud of a cake the moist-est one you’ll ever eat! Dusted with a little confectioners’ sugar, Dream Cake is just that; a dreamy dessert to feed your guests or to keep in the wings just for yourself. Don’t sleep on this one… cake is better when awake! Sweet dreams, everyone!
Ingredients
- 1 (15.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix, plus the ingredients called for on the package
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/8 cup confectioners’ sugar, for topping
Directions
Step 1 -Grease a 10-inch fluted tube pan.
Step 2 -Prepare the cake batter according to the package directions, instead replacing 2 teaspoons of the called-for water with 2 teaspoons of the vanilla extract.
Step 3 -Add the sour cream to the cake batter and fold to combine.
Step 4 -Pour the cake batter in the prepared tube pan and bake according to the package directions.
Step 5 -Transfer the tube pan to a wire rack and let the cake cool.
Step 6 -Invert the cake onto a serving plate and lightly dust it with the confectioners’ sugar.
Step 7 -Slice and serve.
