Sure, lasagna is great but it can take a lot of your time to make. Well, Easier-Than-Lasagna Casserole brings you all your favorite Italian flavors but in under 35 minutes! What a treat! And like we said, it’s all there. Juicy hamburger crumbles, creamy, cheesy goodness, tangy tomato sauce, and of course, bouncy, tender noodles! Just not the kind you’re used to in this bake. Nope, this time we add in some rotini for a little bit of fun! Easier-Than-Lasagna Casserole is perfect for weeknights or really, any time! It’s just that good!

  • 2 cups rotini pasta, uncooked
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 large sweet onion, diced
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar pasta sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded


Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 10×15-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta to al dente according to the package directions.

Step 4 –While the pasta cooks, in a skillet, add the hamburger, the onion, the salt, and the pepper and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5 –Add the cottage cheese to the hamburger mixture.

Step 6 –Add the pasta sauce and the cooked pasta to the hamburger mixture and stir to combine.

Step 7 –Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the cheese.

Step 8 –Bake until the cheese is bubbly, about 15 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve.
