No need to grab the frozen bag of mediocre, sausage-filled snacks. Time for something a little more… fantastic! Easy Pepperoni Rolls are golden brown puffs of pizza dough filled with melty, creamy mozzarella and of course, everyone’s favorite pizza topping: spicy, succulent pepperoni. Have your marinara ready for dipping, because Easy Pepperoni Rolls are best enjoyed hot!

Ingredients

  • flour, to taste, for dusting a cutting board and a rolling pin
  • 1 pound prepared pizza dough, homemade or store-bought
  • 1/4 pound mozzarella cheese
  • 24 slices pepperoni
  • water, optional, to taste, for sealing
  • marinara sauce, to taste, for dipping

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3 –Dust a cutting board with the flour, then cut the pizza dough into 8 equal portions and form each portion into a small ball.

Step 4 –Let the dough balls sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes (this will make the dough easier to roll out).

Step 5 –Cut the mozzarella into 8 (3-inch-long, 1/4-inch-wide) sticks.

Step 6 –Dust a rolling pin with the flour, then roll each of the dough balls out into a small rectangle.

Step 7 –Add 3 slices of the pepperoni and 1 stick of the mozzarella to the center of each piece of the dough.

Step 8 –Starting with the short sides of the rectangle, fold the dough down over the pepperoni and the cheese.

Step 9 –Fold the long sides of the dough in, pinching the seam tightly so that the dough seals itself. If the dough is not sealing well, use a small amount of the water to help the dough stick together.

Step 10 –Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.

Step 11 –Poke 3 holes into the tops of each roll with a toothpick.

Step 12 –Bake until the dough is cooked through and golden on top, about 10 minutes.

Step 13 –Serve the pepperoni rolls with the marinara dipping sauce.
