Ingredients
- 6 large Honeycrisp, gala, or ambrosia apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- 1/3 cup raw sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
Step 1 –Place the apples in a slow cooker.
Step 2 –Top the apples with the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg and mix well.
Step 3 –Cover and cook, stirring once halfway through, until the apples are tender and dark brown, about 5 hours on high or 10 hours on low.
Step 4 –Uncover and puree the apples with an immersion blender.
Step 5 –Cook on high, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 2 hours.
Step 6 –Serve or spoon into jars, cover, and refrigerate.
