Famous Fruit Salad is famous for both being a delicious dessert and for not actually having that much fruit in it. To be fair, there are tropically tangy pineapple bits and sweet mandarin oranges mixed in, but the real beauty of Famous Fruit Salad is the fluffy, creamy, and tangy clouds of whipped topping and the little bursts of chewy sweetness from marshmallows. A little crunchy, sweetened coconut brings the whole thing together. The best version of this fruit salad, it turns out, is the one in which fruit plays only a minor role!

Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (11-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 (8-ounce) container imitation whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 3/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut

Directions
Step 1 –In a bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix to combine.
Step 2 –Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
Step 3 –Refrigerate the bowl until the flavors blend together, at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
Step 4 –Unwrap and serve.
