  • 1 1/4 pounds chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced, optional, for garnish


Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray.

Step 3 –In a shallow dish or on a plate, season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Step 4 –Sprinkle the cornstarch over the chicken, tossing and turning it to evenly coat.

Step 5 –In a shallow dish or pie plate, pour the beaten eggs.

Step 6 –Dip the chicken in the egg mixture.

Step 7 –Over high heat in a large pan on the stove-top, heat the vegetable oil.

Step 8 –In a single layer, working in batches as necessary, sauté the chicken until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Step 9 –Place the sautéed chicken in the prepared baking pan.

Step 10 –In a small bowl, whisk together the buffalo hot sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
