Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt, or to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 4 (3/4-inch-thick) pork chops
  • green peas, cooked, optional, for serving
  • macaroni and cheese, optional, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –In a large skillet on the stove-top over medium-high heat, heat the oil.

Step 2 –In a plastic resealable bag, combine the flour, seasoning salt, salt, and pepper.

Step 3 –Place the pork chops in the bag, seal, and shake to coat the chops.

Step 4 –Once the oil is thoroughly heated, remove the pork chops from the bag, shaking off any excess flour.

Step 5 –Fry the chops in the skillet until golden on the outside and the juices run clear, about 4-5 minutes per side. The chops should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 6 –Serve hot with macaroni and cheese and green peas.
