It takes 20 minutes or less to whip up a bunch of rich and savory chops, so you can spend your time making your favorite suppertime sides or just enjoying that satisfying sizzle on the skillet.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt, or to taste
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 4 (3/4-inch-thick) pork chops
- green peas, cooked, optional, for serving
- macaroni and cheese, optional, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –In a large skillet on the stove-top over medium-high heat, heat the oil.
Step 2 –In a plastic resealable bag, combine the flour, seasoning salt, salt, and pepper.
Step 3 –Place the pork chops in the bag, seal, and shake to coat the chops.
Step 4 –Once the oil is thoroughly heated, remove the pork chops from the bag, shaking off any excess flour.
Step 5 –Fry the chops in the skillet until golden on the outside and the juices run clear, about 4-5 minutes per side. The chops should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer.
Step 6 –Serve hot with macaroni and cheese and green peas.
