Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and pounded to an even thickness
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, optional, for garnishing

Directions

Step 1 –Season the chicken breasts with the olive oil, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Step 2 –Add the seasoned chicken to a large skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop.

Step 3 –Saute the chicken for 5 minutes, making sure not to disturb it while it is searing. After 5 minutes, flip the chicken over. The chicken should be medium-golden in color.

Step 4 –Let the chicken cook on the second side until it is cooked fully through, about 5 minutes. The chicken should read 165 degrees F in the center.

Step 5 –Remove the chicken with a slotted spatula, setting it on a plate to rest.

Step 6 –Carefully deglaze your skillet by adding the chicken broth, allowing the liquid to steam and bubble up violently for a couple of seconds.

Step 7 –Add in the butter, stirring continuously, and allowing it to melt for 1 minute.

Step 8 –Add in the garlic, letting it cook for 1 minute, continuously stirring until fragrant.

Step 9 –Turn the heat off, then add the chicken back into the skillet.

Step 10 –Flip the chicken in the garlic butter sauce, coating it in the sauce.

Step 11 –Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
