Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 (0.87-ounce) packets chicken gravy mix
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • mashed potatoes, optional, cooked, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Grease the inside of a slow cooker.

Step 2 –Pour the onions into the slow cooker.

Step 3 –Place the chicken breasts in a single layer on top of the onions.

Step 4 –In a mixing bowl, add the cream of chicken soup, the gravy mix, the water, the sage, the pepper, and the parsley, whisking well to combine.

Step 5 –Pour the soup mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.

Step 6 –Cover the slow cooker and cook until the chicken is cooked through and tender, about 5 hours on low heat.

Step 7 –Stir the mixture well, breaking the chicken apart as you stir.
