Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 2 T-bone steaks
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill using a two-zone direct and indirect method. Lump charcoal works best.

Step 2 –Create a rub in a small bowl by combining the kosher salt, coarse black pepper, and granulated garlic.

Step 3 –Coat the steak with the olive oil, then the rub.

Step 4 –Once the grill reaches about 500 degrees F over direct heat, add the steaks to the grill.

Step 5 –Grill until you have a char on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Step 6 –Move the steaks to the indirect side and grill for another 8-10 minutes until an internal thermometer reads the cooked temperature of your preferred level of doneness, starting at 135 degrees F for medium-rare.

Step 7 –Allow the steaks to rest for 10 minutes.

Step 8 –Serve with your favorite side.
