Ingredients
For the tostadas:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup water
- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups refried beans
- 8 tostada shells
For the optional toppings:
- 1 cup tomatoes, diced
- 2 cups cheese, of your preference, shredded or crumbled
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- lettuce, to taste
- onions, to taste
- olives, to taste
- jalapenos, to taste
- cilantro, to taste
- red onions, to taste
Directions
Step 1 –Set your oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Cook the beef into a large pan until the beef is browned, about 6-8 minutes.
Step 3 –Drain off the fat.
Step 4 –Add in the water and the taco seasoning.
Step 5 –Simmer the beef with the water and seasoning until it has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 6 –At the same time, heat up the refried beans in a skillet over the stove-top.
Step 7 –Put the tostada shells into the oven and bake them until the shells are warm and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Step 8 –Lightly spoon the heated refried beans into the tostada shells.
Step 9 –Add in the beef and your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
