Ingredients

  • 1 (30-ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1 (12-ounce) package pre-cooked ham steak, diced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • scallions, to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish

Step 3 –In a large bowl, stir the hash browns, the ham steak, the cheddar cheese, the onion, the cream of chicken soup, the sour cream, the butter, the salt, and the pepper.

Step 4 –Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil.

Step 5 –Bake the casserole until it is bubbly and the cheese has melted, about 45 minutes-1 hour.

Step 6 –Remove the foil and continue to bake until brown, about 15 more minutes.

Step 7 –Transfer from the oven, top with the scallions, and serve.
