Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon, plus more for topping
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup, plus more for topping
  • 8 slices bread, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, optional, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease an 8×10-inch glass baking dish.

Step 3 –Whisk the eggs in a large bowl.

Step 4 –Add the milk, the cinnamon, and the maple syrup to the bowl and mix well.

Step 5 –Add the bread pieces to the prepared baking dish.

Step 6 –Cover the bread with the egg mixture and toss well to coat.

Step 7 –Sprinkle the walnuts over the bread.

Step 8 –Top the bread with the extra cinnamon and the extra maple syrup.

Step 9 –Bake until the French toast is set, about 40-45 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve.
