Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) package wide egg noodles
  • 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 10 slices American cheese

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 2-1/2-quart casserole dish.

Step 3 –In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles to al dente, according to the package directions.

Step 4 –Drain the water and return the egg noodles to the pot.

Step 5 –Add the cream of chicken soup to the egg noodles and stir until the pasta is coated.

Step 6 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.

Step 7 –Stir the tomato soup, the brown sugar, the pepper, and the salt into the beef.

Step 8 –Spread 1/2 of the beef mixture in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.

Step 9 –Arrange 5 slices of the cheese over the beef mixture.

Step 10 –Top 1/2 of the egg noodles over the cheese.

Step 11 –Repeat the layers once, starting with the remaining beef mixture and ending with the remaining noodles.

Step 12 –Place the remaining cheese slices on top of the noodle layer.

Step 13 –Bake the bake until the cheese is browned and the sauce is bubbly, about 30-35 minutes.

Step 14 –Serve.
