Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25-ounce) package chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 (6-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup strong coffee
  • 1 (12-ounce) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 6 (1.4-ounce) toffee candy bars, crushed

Directions

Step 1 –Bake the cake according to the package directions.

Step 2 –Allow the cake to cool.

Step 3 –Prepare the pudding according to the package directions and set aside.

Step 4 –Crumble the cake, reserving 1/2 cup.

Step 5 –Place 1/2 of the remaining cake crumbs in the bottom of a 4 1/2 or 5-quart trifle dish or decorative glass bowl.

Step 6 –Layer the cake with 1/2 of the coffee, 1/2 of the pudding, 1/2 of the whipped topping, and 1/2 of the crushed candy bars.

Step 7 –Repeat the layers, starting with the cake and ending with the whipped topping.

Step 8 –Combine the remaining crushed candy bars with the reserved cake crumbs and sprinkle them over the top of the dessert.

Step 9 –Refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to overnight before serving.

Step 10 –Serve cold.
