Ingredients

For the crescent ring:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

For the frosting:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons milk

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/4 cup of the powdered sugar, the egg, and the vanilla extract together until smooth.

Step 3 –Unroll the crescent rolls and separate each triangle. Set 4 of the triangles aside.

Step 4 –Place the remaining triangles on a large circle pizza pan that is at least 14-inches across.

Step 5 –Form the crescent roll triangles into a circle with the points facing in towards the center and the wide edges facing the edges of the pan.

Step 6 –Press the dough triangles together to form a large circle with a 2-3-inch hole in the center.

Step 7 –Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll dough.

Step 8 –Top the cream cheese with the cherry pie filling.

Step 9 –Cut each of the reserved 4 dough triangles into 3 long strips each, creating a total of 12 strips.

Step 10 –Arrange the dough strips evenly over the top of the filling from the outside edge to the center circle, similar to the spokes of a wheel.

Step 11 –Press the ends together to seal.

Step 12 –Bake the crescent ring until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 13 –Allow the ring to cool slightly.

Step 14 –While the ring is cooling, in a small mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining powdered sugar with the milk, adding the milk a little at a time to achieve the right consistency.

Step 15 –Drizzle the frosting over the still warm crescent ring.

Step 16 –Serve warm.
