Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 1/2 cups water, divided, cold
- 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice, strained
- 5 cups water, divided
Directions
Step 1 –Add the sugar and 2 cups of water to a saucepan over medium heat and stir to combine.
Step 2 –Bring the contents to a boil until the sugar dissolves.
Step 3 –Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature. You have just created simple syrup.
Step 4 –Add the simple syrup to the lemon juice and stir until fully combined.
Step 5 –Refrigerate until nice and cold.
Step 6 –When ready to serve, add 2 1/2 cups of cold water and stir well. If it’s too sweet, you can always add more water.
Step 7 –Serve over ice and thinly sliced lemons.
