Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 (16-ounce) package frozen tater tots
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- scallions, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3 –Add the ground beef and cook, while crumbling, until completely browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4 –Stir in the cream of mushroom soup.
Step 5 –Season the beef mixture with the salt and the pepper.
Step 6 –Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 7 –Layer the tater tots evenly on top of the beef mixture.
Step 8 –Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the shredded cheese.
Step 9 –Bake until the tater tots are golden-brown and hot, about 30-45 minutes.
Step 10 –Serve garnished with the scallions.
