Another biking situation is downhill bike riding which is by far the easiest situation to ride a bike. When this situation is considered, the path is supposed to be downwards in slope with no turns. Mountain road bike riding suggests the type of condition from its name only. In this situation, the paths are supposed to be full of turns which play a vital role in increasing the time it would take to complete a distance. Riding a bike in this situation would take about 15 to 20 minutes to bike a mile.

Apart from the type of bike riding situation, there are many other factors that determine the time it would take to bike a mile and consequently answer why it takes that long to bike a mile. These factors could be the experience of a bicycle rider, health of bicycle rider, type of bike, terrain, and most importantly, biking speed.

It is quite obvious that if the speed of the bike is faster, then it would take quite less time to bike a mile. While, on the other hand, if the speed of the bike will be slow then it would take more time to complete the distance of one mile while riding a bike.
