Joe Burrow’s Bacon Wrapped Shrimp are a touchdown for the taste buds. The shrimp are pink and plump, wrapped in succulent, crispy bacon and sweetened with brown sugar to balance out the savory richness. There’s even a hint of spice to really round it out! There’s a reason Joe Burrow’s Bacon Wrapped Shrimp disappear almost as soon as they hit the table! It’s a real “bengal” of a snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 7 thick pieces bacon, cut into thirds
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon chipotle powder
  • parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with foil.

Step 3 –Wrap each piece of the shrimp with 1/3 slice of the bacon, securing each with a toothpick.

Step 4 –Place the bacon wrapped shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5 –In a bowl, add the melted butter, the brown sugar, and the chipotle powder and stir or whisk to combine.

Step 6 –Brush each shrimp liberally with the butter mixture, using about 2/3 of the butter mixture in total. Reserve the remaining butter mixture.

Step 7 –Bake the shrimp for 15 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and switch the oven to broil.

Step 9 –Brush the shrimp with the remaining butter mixture. Make sure to stir the butter mixture before brushing.

Step 10 –Broil the shrimp until cooked through with the shrimp reaching an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve garnished with the parsley.
