Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 red onions, chopped
- 2 apples, such as Granny Smith, chopped
- 1 (14-ounce) package kielbasa, sliced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- garlic salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- dried thyme, to taste
- dried sage, to taste
- fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
- rice, optional, to taste, cooked and warm, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 2 –Add the onions and the apples and sauté until slightly caramelized, for about 5-10 minutes.
Step 3 –Add the kielbasa, the brown sugar, the cinnamon, the paprika, the garlic salt, the pepper, the thyme, and the sage.
Step 4 –Cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook until heated through and the sauce has melted into a glaze-like consistency, about 10 minutes.
Step 5 –Garnish with the fresh parsley and serve over the rice!
