London Fog

London Fog is a warm cloud of comfort when the afternoon feels heavy and the doldrums begin to set in. This brew is a frothy, foamy, and sweet take on black tea. The fruity notes of the bergamot in the tea are enhanced by the sugar and the vanilla, made all the creamier with the milk. London Fog is as enchanting as watching fog roll over a lake from the comfort of a warm living room.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Earl Grey tea, loose leaf or bagged
  • 1/2 cup water, boiled and hot
  • 1/2 cup milk, preferably not skim
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1 –Steep the tea in the hot water for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Step 2 –Pour the tea into a mug of your choice.

Step 3 –Steam the milk. You can either add the milk in a latte frother cup with the sugar and vanilla and then steam the milk until it is hot and frothy. Alternatively, you can add the milk, sugar, and vanilla to a pan put it over medium heat. Mix the milk mixture vigorously with a whisk until it is steaming, and foamy. Do not boil the milk.

Step 4 –Pour in a bit of the milk in the same mug as the tea, swirling, before pouring in more.

Step 5 –Repeat the process as needed to get all the foam into the mug.

Step 6 –Serve immediately!
