  • 1 pound hot or regular breakfast sausage, bulk or casings removed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small cabbage, sliced into bite-sized pieces, about 4 cups
  • 1 (15-ounce) can Great Northern beans, drained
  • 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 48 ounces chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

Step 1 –Cook and crumble the sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat until almost browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 2 –Add the onions and cook until the sausage is completely browned and the onions are tender, about 3 minutes.

Step 3 –Add the cabbage, the beans, the tomatoes, the broth, the oregano, the basil, and the thyme.
