Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Directions

Step 1 –In a large bowl, cream together the butter and the brown sugar until fluffy.

Step 2 –Stir in the melted chocolate.

Step 3 –Mix in the egg, the milk, and the vanilla until well-combined.

Step 4 –In a separate, medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, the baking powder, the baking soda, and the salt.

Step 5 –Gradually add the dry ingredients mixture into the bowl with the wet ingredients mixture, stirring until completely combined.

Step 6 –Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to overnight.

Step 7 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 8 –Form the dough into 1 1/2-tablespoon-sized balls.

Step 9 –Roll the balls in the granulated sugar and place them on a baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.

Step 10 –Bake until the cookies start to brown on the edges, about 8-10 minutes. The cookies will come out soft but will firm up as they cool.
