Ingredients
- 8 red potatoes, peeled and cubed
- water, to taste
- 2 teaspoons crushed garlic cloves, divided
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup half-and-half
- 1/4 teaspoon steak seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon white sugar
- parsley leaves, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –In a large pot, add the potatoes and enough of the water to cover them.
Step 2 –Add 1 teaspoon of the crushed garlic to the potatoes and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are easily pierced with a fork, about 10 minutes.
Step 3 –Drain the water from the pot.
Step 4 –Add the butter to the potatoes and use a masher to mash them until the butter has melted.
Step 5 –Mix the half-and-half, the steak seasoning, the garlic powder, the sugar, and the remaining crushed garlic into the mashed potatoes.
Step 6 –Use an electric hand mixer to mix the mashed potatoes until they are smooth.
Step 7 –Serve the mashed potatoes garnished with the parsley.
