Ingredients

  • 1 package dry cornbread mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons dried sage
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Prepare the dry cornbread mix, following the package instructions. Then cool and crumble the cornbread. Set aside.

Step 2 –Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 3 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 4 –In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.

Step 5 –Once the butter has melted, sauté the onion and celery until softened.

Step 6 –In a large bowl, combine the onions, celery, eggs, sage, chicken stock, and 3 cups of the crumbled cornbread, mixing well.

Step 7 –Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 8 –Set the mixture into the prepared baking dish, baking at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve warm!
