We realize it’s a little short notice to jump on a plane, but at least we have dishes like this Old Bay® Steamed Shrimp that can give us that tropical taste from the comfort of our own kitchen. And y’all. It’s a whole experience! Get ready to enjoy a big pile of plump, tender shrimp that are coated in zesty, tangy spices we all know and love from the coastline. You could definitely serve them with some crunchy hush puppies and salty fries to ensure you get to experience the satisfying seafood at its finest. In fact, who needs the beach when Old Bay Steamed Shrimp can be whipped up in under 15 minutes?! Okay, wait. Who are we kidding? We always want to be at the beach. But we’re pretty certain that munching on this delicious sea-inspired dish is the next best thing!
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon salted butter
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 lemon, sliced into wedges, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- 1 1/2 pounds shrimp, shell-on and deveined
- parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Heat a large pot over medium-high heat.
Step 2 –Add the water, the butter, the apple cider vinegar, the Old Bay seasoning, and the 1/2 of the lemon to the pot and bring to a boil.
Step 3 –Add the shrimp to the water mixture, reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp is cooked through and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 4 –Transfer the shrimp from the pot with a slotted spoon.
Step 5 –Serve the shrimp garnished with the parsley and the extra lemon wedges.
